LAMP DESIGNThis lamp design explores the intriguing dichotomy between protrusion and sustainment. Over twenty meticulously laser-cut circular shapes, varying in size, are precisely folded to transform from two-dimensional forms into three-dimensional extrusions. The expansive, potentially invasive quality of these repeated three-dimensional elements is subdued by a consistent, minimalist white palette. A subtle infusion of yellow light delicately permeates the circles, enhancing the piece's complexity in two primary ways: i. it projects a soft luminescence onto the forms, creating a gentle wash of color ii. it casts nuanced shadows that accentuate the three-dimensional quality, imbuing the piece with a sense of vitality and movement. This interplay of light and shadow brings the piece to life, as if the forms themselves are engaged in a dialogue, whispering.
